Salem Water and Sewer expressly reserves the right to disconnect, confiscate unauthorized devices, and / or discontinue service or any other connection with or without notice where Salem Water and Sewer discovers, finds or is otherwise made aware of any such installation that poses a threat to the supply, public health or public safety.
Salem Water and Sewer cannot guarantee uninterrupted service and will not be responsible for any claims arising out of the failure to deliver continuous service.
Charges and Billing Information
Owner deposit: $100.00
Renter deposit: $200.00
Reconnect Fee: $25.00
Disconnect Fee: $25.00
Reconnection fee for nonpayment disconnect: $50.00
New Water Meter Service Connection: $850
New Sewer Service Connection: $850
Customers will pay monthly bills understanding that ten percent (10%) of the charges will be added if the bill is not paid by the 10th of the month. Delinquent notices will be sent on the 15th with disconnection occurring 5 working days after the 15th.
To resume service, all charges and penalties plus a $50.00 disconnection and re-connection charge must be paid. If a customer does not currently have a deposit with the water department and the service is disconnected for non-payment, customers must then pay all charges plus a deposit as is then
being charged.
Bills begin generating as soon as a meter is set and made active.
